DTC P0717: Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal: Procedure

  1. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION 
    1. Check the speed sensor installation.

      OK

      The installation bolt is tightened properly and there is no clearance between the sensor and transaxle case.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR (NT) 
    1. Disconnect the speed sensor connector from the transaxle.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20 °C (68 °F) 560 to 680 Ω

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPEED SENSOR - ECM) 
    1. Connect the speed sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B29-125 (NT+) - B29-124 (NT-) 20°C (68°F) 560 to 680 Ω
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance (Check for short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B29-125 (NT+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B29-124 (NT-) - Body ground Always

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  4. REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  5. REPLACE SPEED SENSOR (NT). Refer to  REMOVAL
