Driver Side Seat Belt Warning Light does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .*1
    2. Clear DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .*2
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .*1
    4. Recheck for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .*2
      • *1: for Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor
      • *2: for Separate Type Yaw Rate Sensor

      Result

      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output (for Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor) B
      DTC is output (for Separate Type Yaw Rate Sensor) C

    A: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      SRS AIRBAG (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Left side Buckle SW LH buckle switch/Unset, Set or NG Unset: Seat belt not fastened
      Set: Seat belt fastened
      NG: Data is not determined

      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Unset or Set is displayed on the Techstream screen according to the driver seat belt condition A
      Unset or Set is not displayed normally on the Techstream screen according to the driver seat belt condition
      (for Manual Seat)
      B
      Unset or Set is not displayed normally on the Techstream screen according to the driver seat belt condition
      (for Power Seat)
      C
      NG is displayed on the Techstream screen D

    A: Go to next step 

  3. GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  .
  4. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL  .
  5. REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL  .
  6. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL  .
  7. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Replace the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). Refer to REMOVAL .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the operation of the seat belt warning light. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .

      OK

      The seat belt warning light operates normally.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → END (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  9. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL  .
  10. GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  .
