DTC B1476/76: A/C Inverter Load System Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Using the Techstream, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output (w/ Smart Key System) B
      CAN DTC is output (w/o Smart Key System) C

    B → See step   4 

    C → See step   8 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ELECTRICAL FAN) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
    3. Select the item below in the Active Test and then check that the fan operates.
      ACTIVE TEST / AIR CONDITIONER:

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Electrical Fan Electrical fan OFF, ON -

      OK

      Electrical fan operates smoothly.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK REFRIGERANT PRESSURE 
    1. Install a manifold gauge set, refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .
    2. Read the manifold gauge pressure when the following conditions are established.

      1. Prepare the vehicle according to the chart below.
        Item Condition
        Vehicle doors Fully open
        Temperature Setting MAX COLD
        Blower Speed HI
        A/C Switch ON
        R/F Switch RECIRCULATION
        Interior Temperature 30 to 35°C (86 to 95°F)

        Standard pressure

        Low pressure side 

        0.15 to 0.25 MPa (1.5 to 2.5 kgf/cm2 , 21.3 to 35.6 psi)

        High pressure side 

        1.37 to 1.57 MPa (14 to 16 kgf/cm2 , 199 to 228 psi)

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → See step   7 

  4. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM 
  5. GO TO COOLING FAN SYSTEM. Refer to  Cooling Fan Circuit 
  6. CHARGE REFRIGERANT. Refer to  REPLACEMENT 
  7. REPLACE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  8. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
