DTC B1500: Fuel Sender Open Detected: Procedure

1. Use the Data List to check if the fuel receiver gauge is operating properly, refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

   The fuel amount value displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the needle indication.

1. Disconnect the E1 meter connector.

2. Disconnect the k2 fuel suction plate connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   E1-34 (FR) - k2-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
   E1-19 (FE) - k2-3
   E1-34 (FR) - E1-19 (FE)	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   E1-34 (FR) or k2-2 - Body ground

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Remove the fuel suction plate sub-assembly, refer to REMOVAL .

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A-2 - B-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
   A-3 - B-1

NG → See step   7 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly, refer to REMOVAL .

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   1 - 2	Float position F (upper)	13.5 to 16.5 Ω
   	Float position E (lower)	405.5 to 414.5 Ω
