  1. INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Brake Actuator)
      - -
    2. Disconnect the brake actuator connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      HINT: 

      Check the brake actuator assembly when it is cooled down.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      20 (SMC1) - 19 (BS1) Always 15.3 to 17.3 Ω
      20 (SMC1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      6 (SMC2) - 7 (BS2) Always 15.3 to 17.3 Ω
      6 (SMC2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      8 (FRA+) - 5 (FRA-) Always 3.6 to 4.2 Ω
      8 (FRA+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      13 (FLA+) - 14 (FLA-) Always 3.6 to 4.2 Ω
      13 (FLA+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      12 (RRA+) - 11 (RRA-) Always 3.6 to 4.2 Ω
      12 (RRA+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      10 (RLA+) - 9 (RLA-) Always 3.6 to 4.2 Ω
      10 (RLA+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      22 (FRR+) - 21 (FRR-) Always 3.6 to 4.2 Ω

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BRAKE ACTUATOR) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.

    2. Disconnect the A45 and A46 skid control ECU connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A46-4 (SMC1) - A24-20 (SMC1) Always Below 1 Ω
      A46-4 (SMC1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A45-4 (SMC2) - A24-6 (SMC2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A45-4 (SMC2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A46-34 (FRA+) - A24-8 (FRA+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A46-34 (FRA+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Reconnect the skid control ECU connectors and the brake actuator connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs, refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
    4. Check if the same DTC is recorded, refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs (C1315/31, C1316/32, C1352/21, C1353/23, C1354/25, C1355/27, C1356/22, C1357/24, C1358/26 and C1359/28) are not output A
      DTCs (C1315/31, C1316/32, C1352/21, C1353/23, C1354/25, C1355/27, C1356/22, C1357/24, C1358/26 and/or C1359/28) are output B

  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  5. REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
