DTC P0630: VIN not Programmed or Mismatch - ECM / PCM: Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. READ CURRENT DTC 
    1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Code.
    4. Read the DTCs.

      Result

      Display (DTC Output) Proceed to
      P0630 A
      P0630 and other DTCs B

      If any DTCs other than P0630 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

      NOTE:

      If P0630 is set, the VIN must be input to the ECM using the Techstream. However, all DTCs are cleared automatically by the tester when inputting the VIN.

    B → See step   4 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INPUT VIN WITH TECHSTREAM 

    HINT: 

    Refer to "REGISTRATION". Refer to REGISTRATION .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. READ CURRENT DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read the DTCs again.

      Result

      DTC is not output (P0630).

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → END 

  4. GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  5. REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS
