Rear Airbag Sensor: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL REAR AIRBAG SENSOR 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the battery negative (-) cable is disconnected.
      WARNING:

      Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

    3. Install the rear airbag sensor with the bolt and pin.

      Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If the rear airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
      • When installing the rear airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
      • Make sure that the pin is securely inserted into the body hole.
      • Tighten the bolt while holding the rear airbag sensor because the rear airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
    4. Check that there are no loose parts after installing the rear airbag sensor.
    5. Connect the connector to the rear airbag sensor.
      NOTE:

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  7. INSTALL REAR DECK TRIM COVER (w/o Remote Folding Function)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 32
  8. INSTALL RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER BEZEL (w/ Remote Folding Function)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 33
  9. INSTALL REAR POWER OUTLET SOCKET COVER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  10. INSTALL REAR POWER POINT SOCKET ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  11. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SERVICE COVER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 36

  37. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected, refer to INITIALIZATION .

  38. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light, refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .
