Exhaust Pipe And Catalytic Converter: Removal: Removal

NOTE:

For vehicles with the exhaust heat recirculation system, if the center exhaust pipe assembly needs to be removed and reinstalled, the temperature switch should be replaced. This is because glass is used in the temperature switch element and the element can be easily damaged in the removal and reinstallation procedures of the center exhaust pipe assembly.

REMOVE TEMPERATURE SWITCH
Refer to REMOVAL
REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

2. Remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust pipe support.
3. Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe assembly.
REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER
1. Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe damper.

REMOVE HEATER COVER

1. Disconnect the clamp.
2. Remove the 2 bolts and heater cover.
REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the 2 heater water hoses.

2. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

3. Remove the center exhaust pipe assembly from the 5 exhaust pipe supports.
4. Remove the gasket from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2) . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

2. Remove the 2 gaskets from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the clamp and No. 2 oxygen sensor connector (for Bank 2 Sensor 2).

2. Loosen the bolt (A).

3. Remove the 2 bolts (B), 2 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly.
4. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2) . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
