Steering Pad Switch Circuit: Procedure
- INSPECT NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the E3 navigation receiver assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE
- Disconnect the z2 steering pad switch assembly and D16 spiral cable connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition z2-8 (EAU) - D16-4 (EAU) Center Below 1 Ω 2.5 rotations to the left 2.5 rotations to the right z2-10 (AU1) - D16-6 (AU1) Center Below 1 Ω 2.5 rotations to the left 2.5 rotations to the right z2-9 (AU2) - D16-5 (AU2) Center Below 1 Ω 2.5 rotations to the left 2.5 rotations to the right NOTE:The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the airbag from deploying.

- Disconnect the z2 steering pad switch assembly connector.

- Disconnect the z2 steering pad switch assembly connector.
- REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE. Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
