DTC B1585: USB Media Malfunction: Procedure

  1. REPLACE USB DEVICE OR "iPod" 
    1. Disconnect the USB device or "iPod" from the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

      HINT: 

      When one of these DTCs has been stored, it is necessary to turn off the ignition switch to make it possible for the vehicle to recognize a new device when it is connected.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
    4. Connect a known good USB device or "iPod" to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

      HINT: 

      • If the malfunction occurred when a USB device was in use, use another USB device for the inspection. If the malfunction occurred when an "iPod" was in use, use another "iPod" for the inspection.
      • Refer to System Description for compatible formats and versions, refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs, refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. RECHECK DTC 
    1. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      HINT: 

      If DTCs are stored frequently, replace the multi-media interface ECU.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → USB DEVICE FORMAT WAS INCOMPATIBLE, "iPod" VERSION WAS INCOMPATIBLE, OR USB DEVICE OR "iPod" WAS DEFECTIVE 

  4. REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
