        HINT:

        • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.
        • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

    A: Go to next step

  2. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)
    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).
      NOTE:

Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

    NEXT: Go to next step

  3. CHECK DTC
    1. Clear the DTCs, refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   4

    OK → END

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU POWER SOURCE)
    1. Disconnect the E31 multi-media interface ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E31-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E31-12 (+B) - E31-7 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      E31-11 (ACC) - E31-7 (GND) Ignition switch ACC 11 to 14 V

    NG → See step   8

    OK: Go to next step

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)
    1. Disconnect the E31 multi-media interface ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the E15 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E31-9 (TX1+) - E15-9 (TXM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E31-10 (TX1-) - E15-10 (TXM-) Always Below 1 Ω
E31-9 (TX1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
E31-10 (TX1-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to next step

  6. REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU
    1. Replace the multi-media interface ECU, refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Clear the DTCs, refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   7

OK → END (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU IS DEFECTIVE)

  7. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)
    1. Disconnect the E15 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the E31 multi-media interface ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E31-11 (ACC) - E15-11 (ACC) Always Below 1 Ω
