DTC P0A09-591: DC / DC Converter Status Circuit Low Input: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result
DTC P0AE6-225 is also output.
YES → GO TO INSPECTION PROCEDURE INSPECTION PROCEDURE RELEVANT TO OUTPUT DTC (P0AE6-225)
NO: Go to next step
- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) See step 3
NG → CONNECT SECURELY
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (BATTERY PACK WIRE CONNECTOR)
- Check the connection of the battery pack wire connector.

The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.
HINT:
For the removal and installation procedures related to inspection of the connection of the battery pack wire connector. Refer to REMOVAL .
NG → CONNECT SECURELY
OK: Go to next step
- Check the connection of the battery pack wire connector.
- CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
- Connect an oscilloscope between the battery pack wire terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RESISTANCE VALUE INSIDE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the battery pack wire connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance
Tester Connection Specified Condition VLO (On1-7) - Body ground 370 to 430 kΩ
NG → See step 8
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER CONNECTOR) WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
- Check the connection of the hybrid vehicle converter (DC/DC converter) connector.
OK
The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.
NG → CONNECT SECURELY
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY PACK WIRE CONNECTOR - HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER) WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
- Disconnect the n4 hybrid vehicle converter (DC/DC converter) connector. Refer to REMOVAL .

Standard resistance (Check for open)
Tester Connection Specified Condition VLO (On1-7) - VLO (n4-3) Below 1 Ω Standard resistance (Check for short)
Tester Connection Specified Condition VLO (On1-7) or VLO (n4-3) - Body ground 10 kΩ or more
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → See step 12
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - BATTERY PACK WIRE CONNECTOR)
- Disconnect the A61 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

- CLEAR DTC
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.
NEXT: Go to next step
- RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT (HV)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result
DTC P0A09-591 is output.
- Clear the DTCs.

NO: Go to next step
- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
