DTC P0617-142: Starter Relay Circuit High: Procedure

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ST2 TERMINAL VOLTAGE)
- Disconnect the A61 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below when the power switch is off.

Standard voltage
Tester Connection Specified Condition ST2 (A61-37) - Body ground Below 1 V
OK → See step 3
NG: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - MAIN BODY ECU)
- Disconnect the E9 main body ECU connector.

Standard voltage
Tester Connection Specified Condition ST2 (A61-37) or STSW (E9-4) - Body ground Below 1 V
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
- CLEAR DTC
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.
NEXT: Go to next step
- RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT
- Turn the power switch off and leave the vehicle as it is for approximately 5 seconds.
- Turn the power switch on (IG) again.
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Recheck for DTCs.
Result
DTC P0617-142 is output again.
NO → See step 5
YES → See step 6
- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to REMOVAL
