DTC P3226-562: DC/DC Boost Converter Temperature Sensor; DTC P3226-563: DC/DC Boost Converter Temperature Sensor: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      DTC No. Relevant Diagnosis
      P0A93-346 Inverter cooling system malfunction

      HINT: 

      • Turning the power switch on (IG) with the service plug grip and inverter cover removed causes interlock switch system DTC P0A0D-350 to be output.
      • P3226-562 or P3226-563 may be output due to a malfunction which causes the DTCs in the table above to be output. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the table above. Then, perform a reproduction test to check that no DTCs are output.

    YES → See step   24 

    NO: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 4 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK QUANTITY OF HV COOLANT. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    B → ADD COOLANT 

    C → CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS AND ADD COOLANT 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK COOLANT HOSE. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 4 

    NG → CORRECT THE PROBLEM 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE WATER PUMP). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 5 

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CONTROL THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 6 

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → See step   25 

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (COOLING FAN MOTOR CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 8 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK → See step   26 

  8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE WATER PUMP). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 9 

    OK → ADD COOLANT 

    NG: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK FUSE (INV W/P FUSE). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 10 

    NG → See step   15 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK ENGINE ROOM R/B. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 11 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE ENGINE ROOM R/B 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR & BRACKET ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 12 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 14 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  14. CHECK WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR & BRACKET ASSEMBLY. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 15 

    NG → See step   27 

    OK → See step   28 

  15. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR & BRACKET ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 16 

    NG → See step   20 

    OK: Go to next step 

  16. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → See step   21 

    OK: Go to next step 

  17. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 18

  18. CHECK WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR & BRACKET ASSEMBLY. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 19

    OK: Go to next step 

  19. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 20 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (INV W/P) 

  20. CONNECT SECURELY. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 21 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (INV W/P) 

  21. CONNECT SECURELY. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 22 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (INV W/P) 

  22. REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 23 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (INV W/P) 

  23. REPLACE WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR & BRACKET ASSEMBLY. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 24 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (INV W/P) 

  24. GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  25. REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  26. CHECK COOLING FAN SYSTEM. Refer to  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION 
  27. REPLACE WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR & BRACKET ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  28. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
