DTC P2759: Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SLU): Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E26-7 (SLU+) - E26-6 (SLU-) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      E26-7 (SLU+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E26-6 (SLU-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG B

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the harness connector from the wiring harness connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E26-7 (SLU+) - E8-14 (SLU+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E26-6 (SLU-) - E8-5 (SLU-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E26-7 (SLU+) or E8-14 (SLU+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E26-6 (SLU-) or E8-5 (SLU-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SLU) 
    1. Remove the wiring harness connector from the automatic transaxle.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-11 (SLU+) - A-5 (SLU-) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      A-11 (SLU+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A-5 (SLU-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   8 

  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU 
    1. Remove shift solenoid valve SLU.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    3. Connect a battery positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      OK

      Valve moves and makes an operating sound.

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → See step   5 

  5. REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  6. REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  7. REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  8. REPLACE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR. Refer to  COMPONENTS
