DTC P0798: Pressure Control Solenoid "C" Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SL3): Procedure

- INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SL3)
- Remove the TCM from the transaxle.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Specified Condition
20°C (68°F)16 (SL3+) - 15 (SL3-) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Check for short
Tester Connection Specified Condition 16 (SL3+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher 15 (SL3-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
OK → REPLACE TCM
NG: Go to next step
- INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (SL3)
- Remove the shift solenoid valve SL3.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Specified Condition
20°C (68°F)1 - 2 5.0 to 5.6 Ω - Connect a positive (+) lead throgh a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the valve.
OK
The solenoid makes an operating noise.
NG → REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (SL3)
OK → REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE
