DTC P0748: Pressure Control Solenoid "A" Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SL1): Procedure

  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SL1) 
    1. Remove the TCM from the transaxle.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      20°C (68°F)
      14 (SL1+) - 13 (SL1-) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Check for short 

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      14 (SL1+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      13 (SL1-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    OK → REPLACE TCM 

    NG: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL1 
    1. Remove the shift solenoid valve SL1.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      20°C (68°F)
      1 - 2 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    3. Connect a positive (+) lead through a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the valve.

      OK

      The solenoid makes an operating sound.

    NG → REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL1 

    OK → REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE
