DTC P2102: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit Low; DTC P2103: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High: Procedure

- INSPECT THROTTLE BODY (RESISTANCE OF THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR)
- Disconnect the throttle body connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 (M+) - 1 (M-) 20°C (68°F) 0.3 to 100 Ω - Reconnect the throttle body connector.
NG → See step 5
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR - ECM)
- Disconnect the throttle body connector.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for open)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C5-2 (M+) - C55-19 (M+) Always Below 1 Ω C5-1 (M-) - C55-18 (M-) Always Below 1 Ω Standard resistance (Check for short)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C5-2 (M+) or C55-19 (M+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher C5-1 (M-) or C55-18 (M-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the throttle body connector.
- Reconnect the ECM connector.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT THROTTLE BODY (VISUALLY CHECK THROTTLE VALVE)
- Check for foreign objects between the throttle valve and the housing.
OK
No foreign objects between throttle valve and housing.
NG → REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECT AND CLEAN THROTTLE BODY
OK: Go to next step
- Check for foreign objects between the throttle valve and the housing.
- INSPECT THROTTLE BODY (THROTTLE VALVE)
- Check if the throttle valve opens and closes smoothly.
OK
Throttle valve opens and closes smoothly.

OK → See step 7
- Check if the throttle valve opens and closes smoothly.
- REPLACE THROTTLE BODY. Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE THROTTLE BODY. Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE ECM. Refer to REMOVAL
