WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      DTC No. Relevant Diagnosis
      P0ADB-227, P0ADC-226 SMRB circuit
      P0ADF-229, P0AE0-228 SMRG circuit

      HINT:

      • Turning the power switch on (IG) with the service plug grip and inverter cover removed causes interlock switch system DTC P0A0D-350 to be output.
      • P3108-535, P3108-536 or P3108-538 may be output due to a malfunction which causes the DTCs in the table above to be output. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the table above. Then, perform a reproduction test to check that no DTCs are output.

YES → GO TO  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  DTC CHART

    NO: Go to next step

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY)
    1. Disconnect the C64 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the C63 compressor with motor assembly connector.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      CLK (C64-18) - Body ground Below 1 V
      ITE (C64-20) - Body ground Below 1 V
      ETI (C64-19) - Body ground Below 1 V
      STB (C64-33) - Body ground Below 1 V
      NOTE:

Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    5. Turn the power switch off.
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance (Check for open)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      CLK (C64-18) - CLK (C63-1) Below 1 Ω
      ITE (C64-20) - DIN (C63-2) Below 1 Ω
      ETI (C64-19) - DOUT (C63-3) Below 1 Ω
      STB (C64-33) - STBI (C63-4) Below 1 Ω

      Standard resistance (Check for short)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
CLK (C64-18) or CLK (C63-1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or more
ITE (C64-20) or DIN (C63-2) - Body ground 10 kΩ or more
ETI (C64-19) or DOUT (C63-3) - Body ground 10 kΩ or more
STB (C64-33) or STBI (C63-4) - Body ground 10 kΩ or more

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to next step

  3. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
