Front Passenger Side Seat Belt Warning Light Malfunction (TO 12/2010): Procedure

1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Ignition switch on (IG).
3. Turn the tester on.
4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.
   COMBINATION METER:
   
   

   Tester Display	Test Part	Control Range	Diagnostic Note
   Front Passenger Side Seat Belt	Front passenger side seat belt warning light	OFF or ON	Confirm that the vehicle is stopped, engine idling

   OK

   Indicator light (OFF or ON) can be switched by ACTIVE TEST.

NG → REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Ignition switch on (IG).
3. Turn the tester on.
4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Active Test.
5. Check the values by referring to the table below.
   SRS AIRBAG:
   
   

   Tester Display	Measurement Item/Range	Normal Condition	Diagnostic Note
   Passenger Buckle SW	Front passenger side buckle switch	ON: Front passenger side seat belt is fastened OFF: Front passenger side seat belt is unfastened	Confirm that the vehicle is stopped, engine idling

   OK

   Switch condition (OFF or ON) can be switched by actual operation.

NG → GO TO SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM  AIRBAG SYSTEM 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the D23 and E30 connectors.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   D23-13 (PBEW) - E30-17 (PBLT)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   E30-17 (PBLT) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the E30 and D59 connectors.
2. Measure the resistance to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   E30-7 (P/SB) - D59-14 (PBEW)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   D59-14 (PBEW) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the D59 connector.
2. Measure the voltage according the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   D59-16 (IG+) - Body ground	Ignition switch on (IG)	11 to 14 V

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   D59-1 (GND) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Remove the A/C control assembly with the connector still connected.

2. Apply battery voltage from the wire harness back side between the terminals of the indicator, and check the lighting condition of the front passenger side seat belt warning light.

   OK

   Measurement Condition	Specified Condition
   Battery position(+) → Terminal D59-16 (IG+) Battery position(-) → Terminal D59-14 (PBEW)	Front passenger side seat belt warning light comes on

NG → REPLACE A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY 

OK → REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
