Engine Coolant Temperature Receiver Gauge Malfunction (TO 12/2010): Procedure
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Ignition switch on (IG).
- Turn the tester on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
- Check the operation by referring to the table below.COMBINATION METER:
Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Water Temperature Meter Operation Engine coolant temperature receiver gauge Low, Normal, Hi - OK
Needle indication is normal.
NG → See step 3
OK: Go to next step
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (COOLANT TEMP)
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Ignition switch on (IG).
- Turn the tester on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.
- Check the values by referring to the table below.ENGINE AND ECT:
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Coolant Temp Engine coolant temperature/Min.: -40°C (-40°F), Max.: 140°C (284°F) After warming up: 80 to 100°C (176 to 212°F) - OK
Coolant temperature displayed on the tester is between 80°C (176°F) and 95°C (203°F) after warming up.
NG → GO TO ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM SFI SYSTEM
OK: Go to next step
- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or a normal one.
OK
The operation of the combination meter assembly returns to normal.
NG → GO TO ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM SFI SYSTEM
OK → END
