DTC B1625/22: Side Airbag Sensor LH Circuit Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK CONNECTORS
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
- Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor LH and rear airbag sensor LH.
OK
The connectors are properly connected.
HINT:
If the connectors are not connected securely, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.
- Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor LH and rear airbag sensor LH.
- Check that the terminals of the connectors are not damaged.
OK
The terminals are not deformed or damaged.
NG → REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK FLOOR WIRE (OPEN)
- Using SST, connect terminals 8 (BBL+) and 15 (BBL-) of connector B.

NOTE:Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector.
- SST: 09843-18040
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition L6-4 (BBL+) - L6-3 (BBL-) Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- Using SST, connect terminals 8 (BBL+) and 15 (BBL-) of connector B.
- CHECK FLOOR WIRE (SHORT)
- Disconnect SST from connector B.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition L6-4 (BBL+) - L6-3 (BBL-) Always 1 MΩ or higher
NG → REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK FLOOR WIRE (SHORT TO B+)
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition L6-4 (BBL+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V L6-3 (BBL-) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
NG → REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK FLOOR WIRE (SHORT TO GROUND)
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition L6-4 (BBL+) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher L6-3 (BBL-) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher
NG → REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK FLOOR WIRE (OPEN)
- Using SST, connect terminals 2 (BCL+) and 1 (BCL-) of connector C.

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition L6-1 (BCL+) - L6-2 (BCL-) Always 1 MΩ or higher
NG → REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK FLOOR WIRE (SHORT TO B+)
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition L6-1 (BCL+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V L6-2 (BCL-) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
NG → REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK FLOOR WIRE (SHORT TO GROUND)
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition L6-1 (BCL+) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher L6-2 (BCL-) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher
NG → REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH
- Connect the connectors to the center airbag sensor assembly and the rear airbag sensor LH.
- Interchange the side airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Clear the DTCs stored in the memory . Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Check for DTCs . Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

Result Proceed to DTC B1625/22 is output. A DTC B1620/21 is output. B DTC B1620/21 and B1625/22 are not output. C HINT:
Codes other than DTC B1620/21 and B1625/22 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

- CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
- Return the side airbag sensors RH and LH to their original positions and connect the connectors.
- Disconnect the connector from the rear airbag sensor LH.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Clear the DTCs stored in the memory . Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Check for DTCs . Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

DTC B1625/22 is not output.
