Differential Oil Seal: Replacement: Replacement

  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 
  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH 
  3. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID  See step  2
  4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL 
    1. Using SST, remove the No. 1 transaxle case oil seal from the transaxle case.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
  6. REMOVE NO. 2 TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL 
    1. Using SST, remove the No. 2 transaxle case oil seal from the transaxle housing.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
  7. INSTALL NO. 1 TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new oil seal to the transaxle housing.

      • SST: 09387-00010 
      • SST: 09950-70010 
        • 09951-07200 

      Standard depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the oil seal lip.

    2. Coat the lip of the oil seal with MP grease.
  8. INSTALL NO. 2 TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new oil seal to the transaxle case.

      • SST: 09726-27012 
        • 09726-02041 
      • SST: 09950-70010 
        • 09951-07200 

      Standard depth

      2.2 to 3.2 mm (0.0866 to 0.126 in.)

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the oil seal lip.

    2. Coat the lip of the oil seal with MP grease.
  9. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION

  10. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID 
  11. INSPECT TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL  See step  1
  12. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 
  13. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
