FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER (for 2WD): Installation

  1. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR  (See INSTALLATION  )
  2. INSTALL STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH  (See INSTALLATION  )
  4. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  5. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER DYNAMIC DAMPER (for 2ZR-FE) 
    1. Install the front suspension member dynamic damper.

  6. TEMPORARILY INSTALL CENTER ENGINE MOUNTING MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily install the center engine mounting member sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.
  7. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. While alternately inserting SST into the reference holes on the front suspension crossmember RH and LH, tighten the 2 bolts (A), 2 bolts (B), 2 bolts (C), bolt (D) and 3 nuts (E) on the RH and LH sides to the respective specified torque in several steps.

      Torque: Bolt A 

      113 N*m (1152 kgf*cm, 83 ft.*lbf) 

      Bolt B 

      157 N*m (1600 kgf*cm, 116 ft.*lbf) 

      Bolt C 

      52 N*m (530 kgf*cm, 38 ft.*lbf) 

      Bolt D 

      87 N*m (887 kgf*cm, 64 ft.*lbf) 

      Nut E 

      52 N*m (530 kgf*cm, 38 ft.*lbf) 

  8. FULLY TIGHTEN CENTER ENGINE MOUNTING MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Fully tighten the center engine mounting member sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: Bolt A 

      60 N*m (612 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf) 

      Bolt B 

      81 N*m (826 kgf*cm, 60 ft.*lbf)

  9. INSTALL FRONT HOOK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the front hook assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 39 N*m (398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf) 

  10. CONNECT FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH  (See INSTALLATION  )
  11. CONNECT FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  12. CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION  )

  13. CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  14. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  16. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 
  17. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH 
  18. CONNECT NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  19. CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  20. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  21. INSTALL COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET  (See INSTALLATION )
  22. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  23. STABILIZE SUSPENSION  (See INSTALLATION  )
  24. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH  (See INSTALLATION  )
  25. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  26. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    HINT:

    Inspect and adjust front wheel alignment (See FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT ).
