FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM (for 4WD): Installation
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
- The following procedure listed is for the LH side.
- TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH
- Temporarily install the front lower suspension arm LH to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.NOTE: Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
HINT:
Fully tighten the 2 bolts after stabilizing the suspension.
- Temporarily install the front lower suspension arm LH to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.
- TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET LH (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET RH
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.
- FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM RH
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.
- CONNECT NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET (See INSTALLATION )
- PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
- INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
- INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
- STABILIZE SUSPENSION (See INSTALLATION )
- FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH
- Fully tighten bolt A.
Torque: 137 N*m (1397 kgf*cm, 101 ft.*lbf)
NOTE: The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions. - Fully tighten bolt B.
Torque: 137 N*m (1397 kgf*cm, 101 ft.*lbf)
- Fully tighten bolt A.
- INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
