On-Vehicle Inspection

CHECK FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION)
1. Perform a diagnostic system check (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
2. With the passenger side knee airbag installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the passenger side knee airbag with a new one:
  Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the front passenger side knee airbag.

CHECK FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED)
1. Perform a diagnostic system check (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
2. With the front passenger side knee airbag removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the front passenger side knee airbag with a new one:
  - Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the front passenger side knee airbag.
  - Cracks or other damage to the connector.
  - Deformation or cracks on the instrument panel reinforcement.
  NOTE: For removal and installation procedures of the front passenger side knee airbag, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
