KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side): Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
  2. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL CUSHION  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUBASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 5 bolts and driver side knee airbag.
    2. Disconnect the connector.
    NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
