Shift Lever: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Separate the connector and 2 wire harness clamps from the shift lock control unit.

    2. Using a screwdriver, release the stopper.
    3. Using a screwdriver, disengage the locking lug of terminals 4 and 8, and pull the terminals out from the rear of the connector.

    4. Separate the wire harness clamp from the shift lock control unit.
    5. Disengage the 4 claws and remove, the position indicator housing from the shift lock control unit.

  2. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING LOWER 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the position indicator housing lower from the position indicator housing.
  3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER CAP 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the shift lever cap from the position indicator housing.

  4. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR LIGHT GUIDE 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the position indicator light guide from the position indicator housing lower.

  5. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the indicator light wire sub-assembly from the position indictor light guide.
  6. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR LIGHT BULB 
    1. Remove the bulb and cap from the indicator light wire socket.

  7. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER 
    1. Remove the position indicator slide cover from the position indicator housing lower.

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER 
    1. Remove the position indicator slide cover from the No. 2 position indicator slide cover.
