INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR (for TCV): Inspection

  1. INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR (for TCV) 
    1. Check the intake air control valve actuator operation.
      1. Check that the motor operates when the battery is connected to the terminals of the intake air control valve actuator.

      NOTE: If the positive and negative battery leads contact the terminals for the sensor, the actuator may be damaged.

      Standard 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Positive battery voltage applied to terminal 4 (M-), and negative battery voltage applied to terminal 5 (M+) Motor rotates clockwise
      Positive battery voltage applied to terminal 5 (M+), and negative battery voltage applied to terminal 4 (M-) Motor rotates counterclockwise

      If the result is not as specified, replace the intake air control valve actuator.
