Section 10 (Starting System (1AR-FE)): Starter: Installation

  1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the starter with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)

    2. Connect the starter connector.
    3. Install the terminal nut and cover the nut with the cap.

      Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 INLET AIR CLEANER  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER BRACKET  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL NO. 2 INLET AIR CLEANER  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL BATTERY  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
