On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.
    2. Disconnect the hose (connected to the air cleaner) from the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly.
    3. Move the shift lever to P and apply the parking brake.
    4. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3, and then turn the ignition switch on (IG).
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain/Engine/Active Test/Activate the Brake Ejector VSV.
    6. Start the engine.
    7. Using the Techstream, turn off the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (Brake Ejector VSV: CLOSE).

    8. Use your finger to confirm that the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly has no suction.
    9. Using the Techstream, turn on the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (Brake Ejector VSV: OPEN).
    10. Use your finger to confirm that the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly has suction.
