Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK OPERATION 
    1. Check the power back door system operation.

    Result 

    RESULT CHART

    Result Proceed to
    Power back door warning buzzer does not operate. A
    Hazard warning light does not come on. B
    Power back door warning buzzer in the power back door ECU does not operate. C

    B: Go to step 5 

    C: REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU)  (See REMOVAL )

    A: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST ON TECHSTREAM 
    1. Select the Active Test, use Techstream to generate a control command, and check that the power back door buzzer sounds.

    Back door (Power back door ECU) 

    ACTIVE TEST REFERENCE

    Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
    PBD Buzzer Power back door buzzer sound ON/OFF -

    OK: 

    Buzzer sounds normally. 

    NG: Go to step 3 

    OK: REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU)  (See REMOVAL )

  3. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER 
    1. Remove the power back door warning buzzer. (See REMOVAL )
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1-2 Always 950 to 1050 Ω

    NG: REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER POWER BACK DOOR ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the T9 buzzer connector.
    2. Disconnect the 015 ECU connector.
    3. Disconnect the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    T9-1 - O15-26 (BZR+) Always Below 1 Ω
    T9-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    T9-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU)  (See REMOVAL )

  5. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (HAZARD ANSWER-BACK FUNCTION) 
    1. Check the wireless door lock operation.

      OK: 

      Hazard answer-back function operates normally. 

      NG: GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART  (See NO ANSWER-BACK )

      OK: Go to next step 

  6. REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU) 
    1. Replace the power back door drive unit (power back door ECU) (See REMOVAL ).
  7. CHECK POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU) 
    1. Check that the power back door warning buzzer operates normally.

      OK: 

      It operates normally. 

      NG: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) 

      OK: END (REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU) DEFECTIVE)
