Terminals Of Ecu

  1. CHECK ENGINE SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the D25 engine switch connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      ECU TERMINAL REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      D25-8 (AGND) - Body ground V - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    3. Reconnect the D25 engine switch connector.
    4. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
      ECU TERMINAL REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      D25-8 (AGND) - Body ground V - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
      D25-9 (TXCT) - D25-8 (AGND) O-V Key code output signal Key is not in cabin Below 1 V
      D25-9 (TXCT) - D25-8 (AGND) O-V Key code output signal Press engine switch and hold key close to engine switch* Pulse generation (See waveform 1  1)
      D25-10 (CODE) - D25-8 (AGND) GR-V Demodulated signal of key code data Key is not in cabin Below 1 V
      D25-10 (CODE) - D25-8 (AGND) GR-V Demodulated signal of key code data Press engine switch and hold key close to engine switch* Pulse generation (see waveform 2  2)
      D25-14 (VC5) - D25-8 (AGND) G-V Power supply Key is not in cabin Below 1 V
      D25-14 (VC5) - D25-8 (AGND) G-V Power supply Press engine switch 4.6 to 5.4 V
      HINT:
      *: Remove the key battery before performing this inspection.

      If the result is not as specified, the engine switch may have a malfunction.

    5. Inspect using an oscilloscope.
      1. Waveform 1 (Reference)

        Tool Setting 2V/DIV., 50ms./DIV.
        Condition Press engine switch and hold key close to engine switch*
        HINT:

      2. Waveform 2 (Reference)

        Tool Setting 2V/DIV., 50ms./DIV.
        Condition Press engine switch and hold key close to engine switch*
        HINT:
        *: Remove the key battery before performing this inspection.

  2. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D40 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
      ECU TERMINAL REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      D40-1 (+B) - D40-17 (E) B-B +B power supply Always 11 to 14 V
      D40-17 (E) - Body ground B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
      D40-18 (IG) - D40-17 (E) G-B Ignition power supply Engine switch off Below 1 V
      D40-18 (IG) - D40-17 (E) G-B Ignition power supply Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    3. Reconnect the D40 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
      ECU TERMINAL REFERENCE

      D40-9 (CODE) - D40-40 (AGND) GR-V Engine switch CODE input Key is not in cabin Below 1 V
      D40-9 (CODE) - D40-40 (AGND) GR-V Engine switch CODE input Press engine switch and hold key close to engine switch* Pulse generation (See waveform 2  2)
      D40-30 (VC5) - D40-40 (AGND) G-V Engine switch power supply Key is not in cabin Below 1 V
      D40-30 (VC5) - D40-40 (AGND) G-V Engine switch power supply Press engine switch 4.6 to 5.4 V
      D40-40 (AGND) - Body ground V - Body ground Engine switch ground Always Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) may have a malfunction.

    5. Inspect using an oscilloscope.

  3. CHECK ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the D31 ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
      ECU TERMINAL REFERENCE

      D31-1 (+B) - D31-8 (GND) W-V +B power supply Always 11 to 14 V
      D31-8 (GND) - Body ground V - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    3. Reconnect the D31 ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
      ECU TERMINAL REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      D31-5 (EFII) - D31-8 (GND) BR-V ECM input signal Engine switch off Below 1 V
      D31-5 (EFII) - D31-8 (GND) BR-V ECM input signal Engine switch on (IG) Pulse generation (see waveform 1  1)
      D31-6 (EFIO) - D31-8 (GND) L-V ECM output signal Engine switch off Below 1 V
      D31-6 (EFIO) - D31-8 (GND) L-V ECM output signal Engine switch on (IG) Pulse generation (see waveform 2  2)

      If the result is not as specified, the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) may have a malfunction.

    5. Inspect using an oscilloscope.
      1. Waveform 1 (Reference)

      2. Waveform 2 (Reference)

  4. CHECK STEERING LOCK ECU 
    1. Disconnect the D11 steering lock ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
      ECU TERMINAL REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      D11-1 (GND) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
      D11-2 (SGND) - Body ground W - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
      D11-6 (IG2) - Body ground V - Body ground Ignition power supply Engine switch off Below 1 V
      D11-6 (IG2) - Body ground V - Body ground Ignition power supply Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      D11-7 (B) - Body ground G - Body ground +B power supply Always 11 to 14V

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

  5. CHECK ECM 
    1. Disconnect the B3 ECM connector and measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      ECU TERMINAL REFERENCE

      B3-1 (E1) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    2. Reconnect the B3 ECM connector. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      D36-15 (IMO) - B3-1 (E1) BR - W-B Transponder key ECU output signal Engine switch off Below 1 V

      If the result is not as specified, the ECM may have a malfunction.

    3. Inspect using an oscilloscope.

      2. Waveform 2 (Reference)

  6. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) 
    1. Disconnect the 1M and 1F junction block connectors.

    2. Disconnect the D7, D8 and D9 main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      1M-9 (GND2) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
      1F-10 (GND1) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.
