Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
  • When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU, read the transmitter IDs stored in the old ECU using Techstream and note down before removal.
  • It is necessary to perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION ) after registration (See REGISTRATION ) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU if the ECU has been replaced.
  1. CHECK TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RESET SWITCH FUNCTION 
    1. Perform the tire pressure warning reset switch test in TEST MODE PROCEDURE (See TEST MODE PROCEDURE ).

    OK: 

    Reset switch ON: 

    Tire pressure warning light turns on. 

    Reset switch OFF: 

    Tire pressure warning light blinks at 0.125 second. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )

  2. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RESET SWITCH 
    1. Remove the tire pressure warning reset switch (See REMOVAL ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    D32-1 - D32-2 ON Below 1 Ω
    OFF 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RESET SWITCH  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RESET SWITCH - ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D32 reset switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the D33 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    D33-1 (CLSW) - D32-1 Always Below 1 Ω
    D33-1 (CLSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    D32-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU  (See REMOVAL )
