Fuel Pump: Inspection

- INSPECT FUEL PUMP
- Check the resistance.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Standard Resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition 1-2 0.2 to 3.0 Ω at 20°C (68°F) If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.
- Check the operation.
- Apply battery voltage to both terminals. Check that the pump operates.
NOTE:- These tests must be done quickly (for less than 10 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.
- Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.
- Always do the switching at the battery side.
If the motor does not operate, replace the fuel pump.
- Check the resistance.
