On-Vehicle Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL 
    1. Warm up and stop the engine, then wait for 5 minutes.
    2. Check that the engine oil level is between the low level and full level marks on the level gauge.

      If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.

      NOTE: Do not fill with engine oil to above the full level mark.
  2. CHECK ENGINE OIL QUALITY 
    1. Check the oil for deterioration, water, discoloring or thinning. If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil.
  3. INSPECT OIL PRESSURE 
    1. Remove the oil pressure switch (See OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ).
    2. Install the oil pressure gauge.
    3. Warm up the engine.
    4. Check the oil pressure.

      Oil Pressure 

      OIL PRESSURE SPECIFICATION

      At Idle At 3000 rpm
      29 kPa (0.3 kgf/cm2 , 4.3 psi) or more 170 to 300 kPa (1.7 to 3.1 kgf/cm2 , 24 to 44 psi)

    5. If the oil pressure is not as specified, check the oil pump (See DISASSEMBLY ).
    6. Remove the oil pressure gauge.
    7. Install the oil pressure switch (See INSPECTION ).
