POWER STEERING SYSTEM (for 2ZR-FE): Calibration

HINT:

Perform the assist map writing when the power steering ECU is replaced.

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
3. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
4. Turn the Techstream on.
5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Assist Map.
6. Wait for 7 seconds or more.
7. Check for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

HINT:

If DTC C1581 is output, perform the troubleshooting for DTC C1581 (See DTC C1581 ASSIST MAP NUMBER UN-WRITING ).

1. Perform the torque sensor zero point calibration.
   NOTE: If DTC C1516 (Torque Sensor Zero Point Adjustment Incomplete) is stored, the torque sensor zero point cannot be calibrated. Clear the DTC before starting calibration.
   1. Set the steering wheel to the center point and align the front wheels straight ahead.
   2. Turn the ignition switch off.
   3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
   4. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
   5. Turn the Techstream on.
   6. Calibrate the power steering ECU. Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Utility / Torque Sensor Adjustment.
      NOTE:

      • Do not touch the steering wheel during the torque sensor zero point calibration.
      • Do not start the engine.
      • Perform the calibration only when the vehicle is stopped.
2. Check for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
   NOTE:

   • After zero point calibration is completed normally, confirm that DTC is not output.
   • If DTC C1515, C1516 or C1534 is output, perform troubleshooting for the corresponding DTC.
