WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL3
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω

If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SL3.

    2. Connect a positive (+) battery lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and a negative (-) battery lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the operation of the valve.

OK: The solenoid valve makes an operating sound.

If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SL3.

  2. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω

If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SLT.

    2. Connect a positive (+) battery lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and a negative (-) battery lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the operation of the valve.

OK: The solenoid valve makes an operating sound.

If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SLT.

  3. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE S4
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Solenoid Connector (S4) - Solenoid Body (S4) 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω

If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve S4.

    2. Connect a positive (+) battery lead to the terminal of the solenoid connector, and a negative (-) battery lead to the solenoid body, then check the operation of the valve.

OK: The solenoid valve makes an operating sound.

If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve S4.

  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SR
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Solenoid Connector (SR) - Solenoid Body (SR) 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω

If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SR.

    2. Connect a positive (+) battery lead to the terminal of the solenoid connector, and a negative (-) battery lead to the solenoid body, then check the operation of the valve.

OK: The solenoid valve makes an operating sound.

If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SR.

  5. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE DSL
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Solenoid Connector (DSL) - Solenoid Body (DSL) 20°C (68°F) 11 to 13 Ω

If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

    2. Connect a positive (+) battery lead to the terminal of the solenoid connector, and a negative (-) battery lead to the solenoid body DSL, then check the operation of the valve.
