Driver Side Knee Airbag Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the battery negative (-) cable is disconnected.
      CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.
    3. Temporarily install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 2 hooks.
    4. Engage the 2 claws and install the DLC 3 connector.

    5. Install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

    6. Connect the driver side knee airbag connector.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
  2. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  6. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
