FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat): Removal

CAUTION:
  • Always wear safety gloves because the edges of the seatback frame and seat adjuster are sharp and may cause injury.
  • Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned off and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. (The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source. If work is started within 90 seconds after disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.)

HINT:

When removing/installing or overhauling the passenger seat, check the passenger occupant classification system and perform zero point calibration (See INITIALIZATION ).

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
  2. REMOVE FRONT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front outer track bracket cover.

  3. REMOVE FRONT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front inner track bracket cover.

  4. REMOVE REAR OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the foremost position.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear outer track bracket cover.

  5. REMOVE REAR INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear inner track bracket cover.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Operate the power seat switch knob and more the seat to the foremost position.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

    3. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

    5. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the center position. Also, operate the power seat switch knob and move the seatback to the upright position.
    6. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system (See PRECAUTION ).
      NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
    7. Disconnect each connector under the front seat assembly.
    8. Remove the front seat assembly.
    NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
