Inspection Procedure

HINT:

• Displays except for the seat belt warning indicator are shown in the navigation system (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ), supplemental restraint system (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ), and A/C system (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
• The passenger seat belt warning light can be inspected with it removed from the vehicle. The accessory meter assembly should be replaced if the passenger seat belt warning light has a malfunction because this part is not independently supplied.

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT) 
   1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
   2. Ignition switch on (IG).
   3. Turn the tester ON.
   4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
   5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

      Combination Meter:

      OK: 

      Indicator light (ON / OFF) can be switched by ACTIVE TEST. 

   OK:  Go to step  5

   NG: Go to next step 

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT COMBINATION METER) 
   1. Disconnect the E2 and E11 connectors.
   2. Measure the resistance to the value(s) in the table blow.

      Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION
      
      

      Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
      E2-9 (P BELT) - E11-9 (PBEW)	Always	Below 1 Ω
      E11-9 (PBEW) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK: Go to next step 

3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
   1. Disconnect the E2 connector.
   2. Measure the voltage according the value(s) in the table below.

      Voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION
      
      

      Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
      E11-1 (IG+) - Body ground	Ignition switch on (IG)	10 to 14 V

   OK : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

   NG: Go to next step 

4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
   1. Disconnect the E2 connector.
   2. Measure the voltage according the value(s) in the table below.

      Voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION
      
      

      Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
      E11-1 (IG+) - Body ground	Ignition switch on (IG)	10 to 14 V

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION
      
      

      Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
      E11-6 (GND2) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK : REPLACE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY 

5. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (PASSENGER BUCKLE SW) 
   1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
   2. Ignition switch on (IG).
   3. Turn the tester ON.
   4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
   5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

      SRS Airbag: 

      DATA LIST - SRS AIRBAG

      Passenger Buckle SW	Front passenger side buckle switch	ON: Front passenger side seat belt is fastened OFF: Front passenger side seat belt is unfastened	Confirm that the vehicle is stopped, engine idling

      OK: 

      Switch condition (ON / OFF) can be switched by actual operation. 

   NG:  GO TO SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM

   OK: Go to next step 

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER COMBINATION METER) 
   1. Disconnect the D23 and E3 connectors.
   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION
      
      

      Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
      D23-13 (PBEW) - E3-13 (PBKL)	Always	Below 1 Ω
      E3-13 (PBKL) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK: Go to next step 

7. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
   1. Disconnect the D23 connector.
   2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Voltage

   OK : REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
