Rear Spoiler: Removal

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE: If a rear spoiler sub-assembly is removed and installed, the location of the axis of the rear wiper motor assembly (for Glass Hatch Type) will change, causing the wiping angle to change. Be sure to remove and install the rear wiper motor assembly (for Glass Hatch Type) using the centering jig.
  2. REMOVE BACK WINDOW UPPER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH (w/o Power Back Door)  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH (w/ Power Back Door)  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  5. DISCONNECT POWER BACK DOOR ROD (w/ Power Back Door)  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  6. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH (w/ Power Back Door)  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  7. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER RH  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  8. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK COVER (for Glass Hatch Type)  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  9. REMOVE ASSIST STRAP HOLE COVER  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  10. REMOVE ASSIST STRAP ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  11. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  12. REMOVE REAR WIPER SHAFT COVER (for Glass Hatch Type)  (See REMOVAL )
  13. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM HEAD CAP  (See REMOVAL )
  14. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  15. REMOVE REAR WIPER LINK CAP (for Glass Hatch Type)  (See REMOVAL )
  16. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET (for Fixed Glass Type)  (See REMOVAL )
  17. REMOVE REAR WIPER LINK PIVOT (for Glass Hatch Type)  (See REMOVAL )
  18. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Glass Type)  (See REMOVAL )
  19. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Glass Hatch Type)  (See REMOVAL )
  20. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS GUIDE BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Glass Type)  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  21. REMOVE REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put protective tape around the rear spoiler sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the wire harness.
      NOTE: Do not allow the disconnected wire harness to get caught between the back door and the vehicle body to prevent it from being damaged.
      1. Turn back the wire harness grommet.
      2. Disengage the 4 claws and pull out the wire harness from the vehicle.
        NOTE: Do not forcefully pull out the wire harness.

      3. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
      4. Disconnect the rear washer hose.

      5. Disengage the grommet.
      6. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the 2 screws (A).
    4. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the 6 screws (B).

    5. Disengage the 2 claws.

    6. Raise and lower the glass hatch and the back door respectively. Pull out the wire harness from the vehicle and remove the rear spoiler sub-assembly.

  22. REMOVE REAR WASHER NOZZLE (for Rear Spoiler without Press Line) 
    1. Remove the screw and rear washer nozzle bracket.

    2. Disengage the claws and remove the rear washer nozzle.

  23. REMOVE CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (for Rear Spoiler without Press Line)  (See REMOVAL )
  24. REMOVE REAR WASHER NOZZLE (for Rear Spoiler with Press Line) 
    1. Remove the screw and rear washer nozzle bracket.

    2. Disengage the claws and remove the rear washer nozzle.
