Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine conditions when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was running or stopped, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PRESSURE SENSOR - ECM) 
    1. Check harness and connector (see ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. INSPECT PRESSURE SENSOR 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the CAN VIM. Then connect the CAN VIM to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the intelligent tester main switch ON (Do not start engine).
    3. Enter the following menus: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST / AIR PMP PRS (A).
    4. Check the pressure displayed on the intelligent tester.

      Standard pressure: 45 kPa to 135 kPa 

    NG: REPLACE PRESSURE SENSOR 

    OK: REPLACE ECM
