Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

HINT:

Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine conditions when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was running or stopped, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR POWER SOURCE)
    1. Disconnect the C31 camshaft position sensor connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Measure the voltage between terminal 3 of the camshaft position sensor connector and body ground.

      Standard voltage

      SENSOR POWER SOURCE

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C31-3 - Body ground 4.5 to 5.0 V
