Parking Brake Cable: Removal

REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the rear console box (see step 22 under REMOVAL ).

  Refer to the procedures from the removal of the No. 1 console upper panel garnish up until the removal of the rear console box sub-assembly. (See step 12 under REMOVAL ).
LOOSEN LOCK NUT AND NO. 1 WIRE ADJUSTING NUT (See PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM )
REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER
1. Disconnect the 3 cable ends and then remove the equalizer.

1. Remove the cable clamp (labeled A) from the body.
2. Remove the casing cap bolt (labeled B) from the body.
3. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled C) from the body.
4. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled D) from the crossmember.
5. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled E) from the rear suspension crossmember.
6. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled F) from the trailing arm.
7. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake shoe lever and backing plate.
  1. Disconnect the cable from the lever (see DISASSEMBLY ).
  2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cable from the backing plate.
