Hydraulic Brake Booster: Removal

NOTE:

Before starting the work, make sure that the ignition switch is OFF and depress the brake pedal more than 40 times.
As high pressure is applied to the No. 1 brake actuator tube, never deform it.
Until the work is completed, do not turn the ignition switch ON.

HINT:

When a pressure in power supply system is released, reaction force becomes light and stroke becomes longer.

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTE: Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER PANEL (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL LH (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 2 nuts and skid control ECU.
REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the 5 connectors.

2. Using SST, disconnect the 4 brake lines.
  SST 09023-00101
3. Remove the clip and clevis pin.

4. Remove the 4 nuts.
5. Remove the booster and gasket.
