Rear Spoiler: Removal

HINT:

When removing the spoiler, heat the vehicle body and spoiler using a heat light.

Standard heating temperature

STANDARD HEATING TEMPERATURE

Item	Temperature
Vehicle Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
Spoiler	20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

NOTE: Do not heat the vehicle body and spoiler excessively.

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
REMOVE REAR SPOILER
1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 rear spoiler covers.

2. Remove the 2 bolts.

3. Put protective tape around the spoiler.
4. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and spoiler.

5. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
6. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the spoiler to the vehicle body.
  NOTE:
  - If reusing the spoiler, take care not to damage the spoiler.
  - Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
7. Slide the spoiler in the direction of the arrow and detach the 2 clips.

8. Disconnect the center stop light connector.
9. Remove the spoiler.
REMOVE CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 2 screws and light.
REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE
1. Remove the 2 hole plugs.
2. Remove the 2 nuts and the garnish.
