Outside Molding: Removal

HINT:

• Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
• The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
• When removing the molding, heat the vehicle body and molding using a heat light.

Standard heating temperature 

1. REMOVE FRONT FENDER MOLDING OUTSIDE LH 
   1. Remove the screw.
   2. Put protective tape around the molding.
   3. Using a heat light, heat the molding.
   4. Cut the double-sided tape with a knife.
      NOTE:

      • If reusing the molding, take care not to damage the molding.
      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
   5. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the molding.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR MOLDING OUTSIDE LH 
   1. Put protective tape around the molding.
   2. Using a heat light, heat the molding.
   3. Cut the double-sided tape with a knife.
      NOTE:

      • If reusing the molding, take care not to damage the molding.
      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
   4. Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and remove the molding.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

3. REMOVE REAR DOOR MOLDING OUTSIDE LH 
   1. Put protective tape around the molding.
   2. Using a heat light, heat the molding.
   3. Cut the double-sided tape with a knife.
      NOTE:

      • If reusing the molding, take care not to damage the molding.
      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
   4. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the molding.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE REAR DOOR MOLDING OUTSIDE UPPER REAR LH 
   1. Put protective tape around the molding.
   2. Using a heat light, heat the molding.
   3. Cut the double-sided tape with a knife.
      NOTE:

      • If reusing the molding, take care not to damage the molding.
      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
   4. Remove the molding.

5. REMOVE QUARTER MOLDING OUTSIDE LH 
   1. Put protective tape around the molding.
   2. Using a heat light, heat the molding.
   3. Cut the double-sided tape with a knife.
      NOTE:

      • If reusing the molding, take care not to damage the molding.
      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
   4. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the molding.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
