Engine Hood Courtesy Switch: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and hood lock (engine hood courtesy switch).
  3. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hood lock control cable from the hood lock.
