On-Vehicle Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSPECT ANTENNA MOTOR
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6.
    2. Check that the motor turns (moves upward).
NOTE: These tests must be done quickly (within 3-5 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.

    3. Then, reverse the polarity, check that the motor turns the opposite way (moves downward).
NOTE: These tests must be done quickly (within 3-5 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.

  2. INSPECT ANTENNA SWITCH (w/ NAVIGATION SYSTEM)
    1. Measure the voltage of the air conditioning amplifier.

      Standard voltage

      ANTENNA SWITCH (W/ NAVIGATION SYSTEM)

Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
      A45-28 (ANTU) - A47-12 (GND) Not pushed Above 8 V
      A45-28 (ANTU) - A47-12 (GND) UP switch pushed Below 1.5 V
      A45-29 (ANTD) - A47-12 (GND) Not pushed Above 8 V
      A45-29 (ANTD) - A47-12 (GND) DOWN switch pushed Below 1.5 V

If the result is not as specified, the receiver may have a malfunction.

  3. INSPECT ANTENNA SWITCH (w/o NAVIGATION SYSTEM)
    1. Measure the voltage of the integration panel control assembly.

      Standard voltage

      ANTENNA SWITCH (W/O NAVIGATION SYSTEM)

Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
      A45-28 (ANTU) - A47-12 (GND) Not pushed Above 8 V
      A45-28 (ANTU) - A47-12 (GND) UP switch pushed Below 1.5 V
      A45-29 (ANTD) - A47-12 (GND) Not pushed Above 8 V
      A45-29 (ANTD) - A47-12 (GND) DOWN switch pushed Below 1.5 V

If the result is not as specified, the receiver may have a malfunction.

  4. INSPECT ANTENNA MOTOR CONTROL RELAY
    1. Disconnect the A30 relay connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance

      ANTENNA MOTOR CONTROL RELAY (RESISTANCE)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A30-5 (E) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage

      ANTENNA MOTOR CONTROL RELAY (VOLTAGE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-4 (B) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
A30-7 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V
      A30-7 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
A30-17 (ACC) - Body ground Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V
      A30-17 (ACC) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 10 to 14 V
A30-1 (SUP) - Body ground Ignition switch ON, antenna UP switch not pushed Above 8 V
A30-1 (SUP) - Body ground Ignition switch ON, antenna UP switch pushed Below 1.5 V
A30-9 (SDWN) - Body ground Ignition switch ON, antenna DOWN switch not pushed Above 8 V
A30-9 (SDWN) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1.5 V

If the results are not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.
